Commercial Debt Recovery

When ordinary credit control has run its course.

Unpaid commercial accounts consume time, distract good staff and gradually lose momentum. Justice Served takes responsibility for the difficult stage: establishing what is preventing payment, creating meaningful engagement and pursuing recovery with persistence and judgement.

The objective is payment — not unnecessary conflict.

We pursue the debt firmly while remaining alive to the client’s reputation, future trading relationships and the difference between genuine financial difficulty and simple avoidance.

The Problem We Solve

A difficult account should not become a permanent internal project.

By the time an overdue account reaches us, internal credit control has usually done what it reasonably can. Calls have been made, reminders issued and payment dates promised — sometimes repeatedly.

Our role is not to duplicate that work. It is to move the matter forward.

Some debtors can't pay. Others simply won't.

Knowing the difference matters. It influences how we engage, whether negotiation is commercially sensible and when escalation is justified.

How We Work

A recovery process built around judgement.

Every instruction is different. The process below is a framework rather than an automated conveyor belt.
01 Review We examine the account, supporting documents, communications and the client's objective.
02 Due Diligence Appropriate enquiries help us confirm who we are dealing with and identify obvious recovery issues.
03 Formal Demand Clear written notice sets out the debt, expectation and consequences of continued non-payment.
04 Direct Engagement Telephone and written contact seeks payment and establishes what is genuinely preventing it.
05 Intervention Tracing, further enquiries or personal attendance may be used where proportionate and authorised.
06 Recommendation If voluntary recovery is exhausted, we explain the realistic options for escalation.

The Justice Served Difference

Persistence without theatre.

Firm on the debt. Respectful to the person.
Courtesy is not weakness. A measured approach often produces better information, better engagement and better commercial outcomes. Where firmer intervention is required, we do not shrink from it.
01 Clear ownership The instruction has an active recovery strategy rather than simply entering an automated sequence.
02 Commercial context Commercial context
03 Broader capability Tracing, enquiries, negotiation and attendance allow us to move beyond ordinary correspondence where justified.
04 Proportionate escalation We do not recommend further cost merely because a procedural step exists. The next step should make commercial sense.

What We Can Handle

From a single stubborn invoice to an ageing portfolio.

The underlying principles are the same: establish the facts, restore momentum and pursue the most sensible route to recovery.

Single Commercial Debts For accounts where routine internal recovery has failed and a credible external intervention is required.
Recurring Instructions A practical next-stage option for credit-control teams that want difficult accounts removed from the day-to-day workflow.
Bulk & Aged Portfolios Portfolio terms and recovery strategy can be structured around age, value, volume and debtor profile.
Disputed Accounts Where non-payment is tied to an alleged service, quality or contractual issue, we first establish whether the dispute is genuine and capable of commercial resolution.
Absconded / Unresponsive Debtors Tracing and proportionate enquiries can be added where contact information is stale or the debtor has simply disappeared.
Field Intervention Where remote communications have failed, a professional personal attendance may be appropriate and can be agreed separately.

Client Money

Your money goes to you.

Where we recover payment, the debtor is ordinarily instructed to pay the recovered funds directly to the client. Justice Served then invoices its agreed commission or fee.

This keeps the movement of recovered client funds simple and transparent.

When Legal Action Becomes Necessary

Escalation should be a decision, not a reflex.

If voluntary recovery is exhausted, we set out the realistic next options. Where court proceedings, legal representation or formal enforcement are required, the appropriate external professionals can be instructed with the client’s authority.

Justice Served is not a firm of solicitors and does not present itself as one.

How We Charge

Success-based where agreed. Additional work authorised first.

Recovery commission may be contingent upon funds recovered. Tracing, field attendance, fixed-fee work, disbursements or other specialist activity may carry separate agreed charges. Those costs are explained before they are incurred.

Corporate & portfolio arrangements

Regular users and larger portfolios can be priced commercially according to volume, debt value, age and profile. The objective is a structure that rewards actual recovery rather than unnecessary activity.
