Commercial Debt Recovery • England & Wales

Tracing & Investigations

When somebody stops communicating, we establish what changed.

A debt cannot be progressed effectively if contact details are stale, a director has moved, or the underlying facts are uncertain. Justice Served offers tracing and proportionate enquiries to support informed recovery decisions.

Useful information before useful action.

Tracing and investigative enquiries are not ends in themselves. They help establish where a person or business can be reached and whether a recovery path remains viable.

Why It Matters

The wrong information produces the wrong strategy.

If an address is stale, if a business is no longer trading from its registered office, or if an individual simply no longer engages, continuing to write the same letters to the same place is not a strategy.
01 Confirm Where the person or business can realistically be reached.
02 Clarify Whether the underlying circumstances have materially changed.
03 Support A recovery recommendation based on current information rather than assumption.

Services

Targeted enquiries to support recovery.

Not every matter needs tracing. Where it does, the objective is to obtain information that actually moves the case forward.

Individual Tracing Establishing a current address or contact point for an individual who has become unresponsive or difficult to locate.
Director Tracing Targeted tracing of company directors where the corporate route alone no longer tells the whole story.
Address Verification Checking whether an address remains current and useful for recovery or service purposes.
Background Enquiries Proportionate enquiries to help establish whether a recovery path remains sensible and what obstacles are likely to arise.
Pre-Recovery Intelligence Useful fact-finding before deciding whether further recovery cost is justified.
Recovery Support Tracing and enquiries can be combined with the wider Justice Served recovery process where required.

Our Standard

Discreet and proportionate.

We are not in the business of dramatic theatrics. Tracing and enquiry work should be lawful, proportionate and directly connected to a legitimate client objective.

Where no meaningful trace or enquiry route exists, we say so plainly.

Information should earn its keep.

If a tracing instruction does not help the client decide or act, it has not done enough. Our focus is on usable outcomes, not simply activity.

Charging

No trace, no fee where agreed.

Tracing services can operate on a “No Trace, No Fee” basis where appropriate. Director traces or broader investigative work may carry separate agreed charges depending on the nature of the task.

Linked to recovery

Tracing can stand alone as a service or form part of a wider debt recovery instruction where better information is needed before proceeding.
